“I’m Elizabeth, positive 13 years, kept it a secret for 10 years. I’ve just stepped down from the Positive Women’s Victoria board. Mum of 4. Nan of 4 and a half. I’m a nurse. So, it was very important to keep things under wraps in the beginning and even now. What else? I love the beach. I love the outdoors…” Speaking of her diagnosis Elizabeth explains: “I felt trapped at diagnosis, it felt like barbed wire, trapped by my own stupidity and actions. There was a small meeting room with a desk and three chairs. One chair on the other side of the desk, and one on the same side as me, at a metropolitan blood bank.  Upon receiving my diagnosis, I was numb, no tears.”
