Shontaiya

Shontaiya is 47, she has three adult children and lives in Australia.  Shontaiya describes the time of her diagnosis, “When I first found out that I was positive, I had three small children. I thought that I was going to die. I had less than 50 T cells and they told me I’d be dead in 6 weeks. They got medication two weeks later up to me and I was lucky… I got well really quickly. I said to God, “just let me raise these kids and I’ll lay down happily…” (I had a chat with him again later) I was diagnosed 22 years ago now with HIV and  I’m doing well. I live a very healthy and happy life.”
