“I’m in Melbourne and I’m a mum to three boys aged nine, seven and four and a half. I have a husband as well and we’ve got 22 chickens, two dogs and a parrot. It’s like living in a farm. So it’s really crazy. I was diagnosed in 2010, but I had the virus probably 10 years before that… Me and my husband got married and we decided to have a family, and I did all the bloods to make sure I was healthy. And they said, “Whatever you do, don’t get pregnant.” And I already was pregnant. But my son was born HIV negative anyway. I’m just doing this art course for me because I’m really lost in myself at the moment, so I think this will be really good. I’m actually really excited about doing it.”
